Dan was born and raised in Los Angeles. His interest in photography stems from a lifetime of exposure to the arts through his parents. At the age of 8, he knew how to properly load medium format and 35mm cameras; a skill learned while helping his dad shoot weddings on weekends.
It wasn't until his high school years that he decided on pursuing a career in photography, first interested mainly in the role of photojournalism. A 6-year period of service with the Navy as a photographer helped shape his ideas and style and he was greatly encouraged to continue his studies and endeavors as a civilian. In 2002, Dan received a B.A. in Communication with an emphasis in photography from Cal State University Fullerton.
Since, graduating, Dan has worked on a wide range of photographic projects. Some personal and conceptualized on his own, while others have been solely to make ends meet.
Dan is currently available for a wide range of assignments, including photojournalism, event, commercial, and fine art photography.
